The hosts were Dessie and Ruth Ross and Elmer and Selma McMullan with assists by Mervyn and Maude Ross. In addition to her host duties Ruth kindly provided a FREE taxi service to a number of our members.

Thirty one vans were sited in the main and overflow areas and returning members Colin and Gemma and family and new members Patrick and Anne-Marie Conway were warmly welcomed. Friday an ‘Al Fresco get together’ on site, and the proximity of the festival to the local British Legion and Cricket club all secured an enjoyable evening for most members.

Saturday morning for some members started out with a good big breakfast fry at the Legion and then they and others took the short walk to experience the sights, sounds and tall ships of the Maritime Festival. Sadly for later walkers they experienced periods of very heavy rain in the afternoon. Agnes Adair called to see us that afternoon and took that opportunity to present a most generous and welcome personal donation to the Chairman’s charity.

Saturday evening the Legion provided for some members large scale television viewing of a World Cup football match and for others a live group provided great music to keep the dance floor full ensuring a late night (or early morning) for many.

Our Chairman Sam’s Sunday morning address was used to FREE LOYALTYWEEKEND Vouchers to Steven and Mary Glenn, Peter and Marie Johnston, Elmer and Selma McMullan, John and Elaine Kerr, Ken Little, Sheila Beattie and Steve and Deborah Parry, Number plate awards were made to Samuel Esdale and Ian and Brenda McCoy.

He also congratulated our rally officer in procuring this brilliant venue so close to all the action and events taking place in the city. Our next rally in Omagh in conjunction with the Annual Omagh Show taking place on 3rd & 4th July.
