Huge Thanks to Selma and Elmer along with Ruth and Dessie, Maud and Mervyn for a great Christmas Rally. Once parked up we were able to make our way to the hall where thanks to the Hall manager Peter and his Elves the tables were set up with runners so we could add our own twinkling lights and Christmas items. On Friday evening we can thank Jacqueline for Bingo. Peter with his four assistants, children who were attending rally, for providing Carols which ended with the hilarious 12 days of Christmas, which every table took part in Leaping Lords and calling birds actions and noise etc etc. Thanks goes to our songbird, Pauline, for sharing her dulcet tones, which delighted us all once again. The Grinch, aka David, didn’t succeed in ruining Christmas and the children chased him and stole his hat. All good fun. Thanks Santa aka Mark for ensuring they got their presents. Thanks DJ Robbie for providing a lively assortment of music to end the evening.
Saturday morning found lots of different crafts taking place and thanks go to Caryn who provided Christmas crafts for the children. £28 was also given by Caryn, for Chairman’s charity, as she sold some crafts she had made. Once the rain had died down for a while some made their way to Town to shop and eat and drink. We came back to a beautiful display of yummy mince pies and shortbread by Ruth and Maud.
The Elves had been hard at work along with a glass or two of Mulled wine the evening started off very successfully. Thanks to DJ Albert who provided soft background music whilst we caught up with friends until our entertainer for the night got the adults on the floor to dance the night away. The Grinch appeared again but was once again chased. No one was going to ruin this fantastic rally.
Thanks again ladies for more tea/coffee, pies and shortbread on Sunday morning, we have been spoilt. The Christmas jumper competition was won by Anne. Thanks again to Selma for Christmas stockings for the children who helped her over the weekend. The Chairman relayed updates on the health of some of our members and we wish them a peaceful Christmas and a Healthy New year. 38 vans attended this weekend’s rally so two Number plate draws were won by Stephen and Hayley. Loyalty voucher given to Sheila, Ernie, Michelle, Elmer. The Chairman wished, on behalf of the Committee, a Merry Christmas and happy New year to all members and looked forward to seeing them next year. Irene Hewitt
