RALLY REPORT 13 - 15 MARCH 2026. Early spring sunny but chilly weather greeted the 20 units arriving on the Friday and Saturday at Ballynahinch High School for the pre St Patrick’s Day rally. Our main hosts Peter and Marie assisted by hosts Raymond and Liz and Chairman Sam quickly had all the units parked.

Tables and chairs were moved by the hosts from distant classrooms to the hall for the evening’s entertainment. An interesting activity was presented to us in the evening which challenged our knowledge of the names of 70 dogs which had featured in cartoons and films. This activity served the dual purpose of being very amusing and also keeping everyone active and warm moving vigorously around a very cold hall. Peter then rounded off an enjoyable evening with his guitar by performing many popular songs which we sang along to during which we were served with green hued Whiskey and Baileys by Marie.

Saturday dawned bright and less cold and during the day some members went into the town to watch the televised rugby matches. Our hosts and members tastefully decorated the hall and tables with a St Patrick’s day theme. We were fortunate to have a nice warm hall to enjoy Nail Patterson performing on Saturday evening and most members got into the spirit of things by wearing something green. We were all outdone however by the costume worn by Chairman Sam of which only a photograph could do adequate justice!.

At the usual Sunday morning meeting the number plate draw assisted by Caryn was won by Tom and Julie and also by Ramunas and Rita with the Loyalty Voucher won by Des and Patricia. We all had good cause to be grateful to our Chairman and hosts for their collective efforts this weekend on our behalf and also send our very best wishes to Selma for a full recovery from her injury.
