Chairman’s Christmas Message

At this time of the year our thoughts turn to our friends and loved ones, who can no longer be with us and those that are battling serious illness. It is really concerning that on 14th December 2025 the forth death in domestic house fires was recorded within THREE DAYS! This brings to a total of FIFTEEN deaths in 2025 to date, three time more than last year. Most people believe that it “won’t happen to them”, something that over my working life I have heard so many times. This is the last thing we would want to happen to any of our members or loved ones. Due to cutbacks, the television adverts re fire safety in the home are no longer being shown, such as “Thumbs up on Mondays” a reminder to constantly check your smoke alarm weekly AND that also means the smoke alarm in your motorhome. Your local fire station will provide a FREE home safety check if requested and even fit a new or replacement smoke alarm if needed.
On behalf of your committee, I wish ALL our members a SAFE and happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all at the New Year rally in Cookstown
