RALLY REPORT AT REGENT HOUSE GRAMMAR SCHOOL, NEWTOWNARDS JULY 2022

Arriving in Newtownards we were welcomed by Hosts Joe and Florence McClune and Co-Hosts Ian and Liz McKenna. Robbie Hewitt was thanked by them for also assisting in getting 44 Vans parked up.

The evening was dry and warm so a good opportunity to get the barbecues out and enjoy what it’s all about. Brillant company, relaxed atmosphere, food and drink. Despite not getting the larger hall on Friday evening a good turnout for the table top bingo was thoroughly enjoyed.

Saturday morning’s Members Meeting was well attended. Joe gave reasons for calling same and the Minutes of Meeting will be available on the Webpage shortly. Many members spent the afternoon enjoying the very pleasant weather by congregating around their motorhomes. I think a few refreshing drinks were seen to be consumed. A few ventured into the town where the market was being held. The retailers must have been happy with trade as I saw quite a few bulging shopping bags.

Saturday evening again saw a good turnout and the dance floor was certainly well used as music by Steve Farrell and Geri Kane went down a treat.

Coffee morning on Sunday welcomed new Member Sam Arlow. Liz McKenna and Agnes Adair was wished Happy birthdays. Number plate draws were won by Robbie Hewitt and Annette Hemphill. Quiz by Florence Little. Joe was pleased Roy and Jenny Dowie. Paul and Lesley Rixon. David Kyle-Ewing and Victor Lennox have come forward as being willing to be Co-opted unto this year’s committee to help our depleted numbers due to illness.

So once again a big thank you to them and to our hosts this weekend. Everyone was full of praise for another successful rally.
