New Year Party at Ballymena RFC - 30 December 2019 to 1 January 2020

Receiving a warm welcome from our hosts Des & Carol Crawford and Andy & Julie Irwin MCCNI descended on Ballymena Rugby Club to see out the old year and welcome in the new. With the hectic festive period behind us Monday night gave everyone a chance to unwind with a relaxing drink in the bar, swap Christmas stories, and of course support the Rugby Club coffers!

Tuesday gave all the chance to get to town and with the famous shopping of Ballymena or Blooming Village of Broughshane on offer, members were spoilt for choice. Although a brisk dander in either direction was on offer the Des & Andy Shuttle service was in full operation and allowed many to save the shoe leather.

With 45 vans having made the trek our numbers were swelled by members who kindly spared the parking and attended under their own steam to join us in celebrating the big event. A buffet dinner gave us the energy to see us through to midnight and dance away to Muff’s very own Mick Jagger, before a rousing rendition of Auld Lang Syne, proved the warmth and camaraderie in the club is as strong as ever.

No rally would of course be complete without the usual prizes and celebrations. Billy Little won the quiz with Rhonda Smith and Victor McFadden claiming the entry draws. Birthday wishes were extended Frank Horner, Kathleen McFetridge and belated wishes to Tom Adair.
