MCCNI Rally at Larne High School 28 February to 1 March
We arrived at Larne High School to a very warm welcome from our hosts. Margaret and Deirdre took care of the paperwork while Eddie and Damien braved the cold winds to park up the 25 motorhomes.
Friday night saw a good crowd at the bingo. Thanks to David for calling the numbers. Winners had an extra treat of a surprise gift (donated by the hosts). After bingo some folk had an early night while others stayed for a chinwag.
On Saturday people headed into town for a little retail therapy. Thanks to Ian for the lift. On Saturday night it was another full house for a bit of music and craic. A massive thanks to DJ Joe for his very popular array of music. The floor never emptied all night. Thanks to Robert for the Scottish dance display followed by Chloe with her Irish dancing.
Sunday morning David our vice chair took the mic to give Joe a rest. He thanked the hosts for an excellent weekend. He wished Lily and Carol Crawford and Ian Hutton a happy birthday. There were no new vans, anniversaries or marriage proposals to mention. The next rally is in Downpatrick with music on the Friday night and Irish stew on the Saturday night. There will be First Aid training at the Cookstown rally. New volunteers are very welcome. Eddie then took the mic. The quiz was won by Diane Craig (fantastic to see her and George out again ). Maurice McIlhagga won the entry draw. Eddie thanked everyone for attending the rally and wished all a safe journey home.
Thanks to our hosts for a very enjoyable weekend.
