Cookstown Christmas…. Rally Report ….9th~11th December

Cookstown Christmas…. Rally Report ….9th~11th December

Friday night and it was freezing cold as we all arrived, but then again it is December. A committee meeting was held while everyone else congregated in the hall for drinks and a catch-up with friends old and new.

We had a very large family who sat at the front of the hall beneath the stage. A massive inflatable Santa and his little helpers.  After every got settled in we then got organised to have a Christmas game of pass the parcel, with a difference. After we coaxed our 20 volunteers on to the seats we started the game, and what a laugh it was. I think everyone in the hall was in stitches at some of the antics they had to perform, from strutting around like a rooster to air guitar, also getting battered with a banana. A great night was had by all.

Saturday morning, another freezing cold day. Some people ventured into town for some Christmas shopping, and maybe some Christmas cheer as well. Saturday night we had a lot of people dressing up not only their tables, but themselves as well. Another good night with music supplied from the club members before the singer took to the stage.  Paul Ralph He played a lot of great music.

Sunday morning we had the address from our chairman who welcomed everyone to Cookstown and thanked everyone who helped to make the weekend a great success, especially as it was such a cold weekend. The chairman also held a very special draw for the younger members of the club who did not receive a prize in the raffle the previous night. Big thanks to the kids as well for helping out on the Friday night as well.

We had 53 vans in total over the weekend, which was an excellent turnout for the time of the year and also considering the adverse weather conditions Vic and Sandra Lennox.
